"We Bought A Zoo" Critique

 Authors Note: I did a critique on this particular movie because I just saw it on Saturday, January 14th. It is still fresh in my brain!

I rate the movie "We Bought A Zoo" 4 1/2 out of 5 stars!

My reasoning for this is because it is a great movie for kids and sends a good message to everyone.

It's such a great movie for kids because it's realistic, but at the same time I've never heard of anyone buying a zoo before. Kids love animals, especially animals that aren't animated. But, I don't give it a 5 out of 5 stars because there is some swearing involved. I think swearing is a bad influence on young children, because they don't know that they are "bad words".

The message that this movie sends is that even though something devastating happens you just have to move on and something better will come along. Also, to do what you think is right, even though everyone else thinks it is an unusual thing to do. In this case, the unusual thing is buying a zoo.

Why is the Sky Blue?

 Authors Note: I wanted to write about something that is totally unrealistic. This is unrealistic because of the aliens, cavemen, and paint in space.

One day, the alien's of Saturn were finger painting. They were looking at the Earth and how boring it's colors were. Brown and Green. Saturn was bright blue; so colorful! What a coincidence! The aliens had happened to be finger painting with light blue paint! They all were thinking of the same thing! They went to the paint store and got gallons and gallons of light blue paint! When they had enough paint they lined up and counted to 3. 1...2...3!!! Gallons and gallons of light blue paint went everywhere! It splattered all over the earth and just covered the outside of it. Years later, when cavemen were roaming about the earth, they looked at the sky and it was blue! Then, the cavemen just knew that it was all because of the aliens. Then, the cavemen called the aliens with their coconut phones. The aliens thought they were calling to get some more rocks but they guessed wrong. The cavemen called to them how happy they were about the blue sky! And that is why the sky is blue!

Love Life

Authors Note: I chose this quote because it describes things that happen in life and why it is important to be a good person no matter what happens in life.

This quote says a lot because this is what life is about. Each line in this quote is a recommendation of what you should do in life. I think each of these statements mean something very important. 


WORRY LESS: This means that you shouldn't worry about everything because it will do you no good.
SMILE MORE: When you smile it's contagious. It will make you and everyone around you happier.
ACCEPT CRITICISM: When someone criticizes you just accept it and move on. It might even be good criticism. 
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY: Being a responsible person will get you places further in life. It shows that you are a mature person and can handle certain situations. 
LISTEN & LOVE: When you are a good listener it shows that you are not selfish and that you care about what other people have to say. Love your family and friends.
DON'T HATE: Hating is a bad thing because it makes you angry and it builds up inside of you. Eventually you will explode with anger!
EMBRACE CHANGE: Change can sometimes be a good thing. If you accept it, you can make it be a positive thing.
FEEL GOOD ANYWAY: No matter what happens in life always feel good about yourself. And be strong even if what happens is terrible.

I'm a Curling Iron!

AUTHORS NOTE: I decided to do the point of view of a curling iron, because my curling iron is an easy thing to write about. It's easy to describe how it looks like, and what it does. 

I’m a curling iron. I’m an iron that can curl. It’s kinda obvious. You know, because the word curl and iron are in my name! People want to buy me because their hair looks really pretty when they use me. But when I was in the store I was so lonely and helpless. I just sat there on the shelf watching people pick me up, look at the price and walk away. But most people don’t realize what curling irons really go through.

I always have to sit on this shelf all alone, in a dark box. I’m so lonely and helpless. My blue iron and silver handle are cold. All I can hear is the voices of humans discussing my quality and price. When they pick me up it feels like an earthquake. Sometimes, I think that they will actually think that I’m a good enough curling iron and buy me! I have different settings for different types of curls. I only cost $19.95!

One day, I heard yet another voice of a human. I heard her say “This is exactly what I’m looking for! She’ll love it!” Then, she picked me up looked at my price and said “And at a great price too!” She took me to the register and she bought me! When we got home, she used me right away and her hair was all curly! That day, was the miracle day.
